Presented by Laycock Street Community Theatre
You may have caught one or two of Dorian’s satirical jazz songs at various gigs, with either the Bathtub Gin Orchestra, or his award-winning jazz trio. But Dorian wondered, what if he was to compose an entire song cycle about the Central Coast.
So this comedy cabaret is a delightful one-man-with-piano ode to the sunny Central Coast, featuring catchy tunes like 'She Said Goodbye in Budgewoi' and the infectious 'Kincumber Rumba'. And new songs like ‘The Woy Woy Waltz Waltz’ and ‘Moonlight in Wyong’ and many more. This hilarious concert is a celebration of the unique charm of the Central Coast that you won't want to miss!
Dorian Mode is a multi-award-winning musician who is also known for his funny books, published by Penguin. He’s been awarded three ABC Music Awards and presents his cheesy original songs with one foot in the fondue pot and one foot deep in cultural satire. Wielding his trademark laconic wit, he is a sought-after entertainer, performing in the Spiegeltent at the Adelaide and Sydney Fringe Festivals.
This project is proudly supported by The Art House through their Art House Creatives Program.
